Day Dream Cake Shop Cafe Review

Discovering new places to hang out in the San Francisco area can be difficult, especially due to how difficult it is to drive in the city. Thanks to social media I was able to find a cute cafe that is a great place to hang out and easy to get to with public transportation!

Day Dream Cake Shop is a small trendy cafe located in the Sunset district of San Francisco. This cafe is located right off the main street of Irving perfect for getting away from the bustling city life. This cozy and bring cafe is a perfect place for hanging out with friends or taking a break from the bustling everyday life. It’s very accessible by public transportation making it a great place for students to go. Here is what I thought of the shop!

Cafe Environment

The environment of this shop is very cute. The shop’s pink walls have a neon sign and small succulents. The seating was of a white color perfectly complementing the pastel aesthetic. Next, the cafe is about the size of a medium-sized garage. There is a limited amount of seating so be sure to go during off hours!

With the cafe being small, it emulates being in a cozy and intimate area, especially with friends. Customers inside are quite young ranging from high school to the college age range.

Food Review

Earl Grey Boba Molten Cake

This cafe sells a variety of unique cakes. I had the Earl Grey Boba Molten Cake ($12). The sponge cake was doused in a light Earl Grey cream garnished with tapioca pearls and a tiramisu powder. The sponge cake was very light making it very easy to cut, even with plastic cutlery. The cake is a 6-inch therefore making it perfect to share with some friends. Day Dream Cake Shop also sells cakes by the slice if a whole cake isn’t for you!

Drink Review

Sweet Dream

Sweet Dream ($6.50) is a pink slush drink made from strawberry, raspberry, and yogurt. The presentation of the drink was amazing, fitting into the cafe’s aesthetic perfectly! The first thing that catches the eye is a cute cloud decoration that comes on the straw of the drink. With the white yogurt slush acting as the clouds and the sky, the drink lives up to its name. But what about the taste? The drink is sweet with a hint of tanginess from the yogurt that tastes like Yakult. If you are not a fan of Yakult this drink might not be for you but, this can be a great way to try something new!

Daydreaming

Daydreaming ($6.50) is a blue slush drink made from orange, kumquat, and yogurt. The presentation of this drink is much like the Sweet Dream option listed above. It also comes with a cloud decoration as well. In contrast, the “sky” of the drink is blue with the white yogurt slush being the clouds. The flavors of this drink are fruity and sweet. The drink’s presentation also lives up to its name as it looks like the sky during the day. This is one of the cafe’s signature drinks as well.

cafe speciality drink

Sparkling Fruit Punch

The Sparkling Fruit Punch ($6.50) is a drink made mainly of Sprite with some added fruit concentrates for some added flavors of passion fruit, raspberry, and lime. It is another specialty drink that the cafe offers. The drink has 3 different color layers looking like a beautiful color gradient similar to a sunset. The drink comes with a few fresh lime slices and some edible flower buds as garnish. Although the colors are bright, the flavor is completely different. There are small hints of the fruit flavor but, it tastes like the base soda. Overall, although this drink is aesthetic to look at the drink was lacking in flavor. If you are someone who enjoys more of a mellow flavor, this drink is good for you!

Cafe Overall Thoughts

Day Dream Cake Shop is a great place for an intimate hangout with some friends or family. Not only is this cafe nice to look at but, they also have great drinks and desserts as well. When I went the shop was not very busy. The person working that day was kind and helped me with my order. Overall, I had a wonderful experience visiting this small cafe located in San Francisco. Although a bit on the pricier side, I would come back here!
