If you’re craving Vietnamese food, my first recommendation would be Perilla. Located in the Inner Sunset district of SF, you wouldn’t want to miss this eat.

First Visit

My friends and I are constantly craving pho and our go-to spot would be Kevin’s Noodle House, also known as Pho Huynh Hiep. Once I tried Perilla, it replaced Kevin’s as my go-to comfort food.

My friend, Gisel, took me to Perilla for the first time. She mentioned how the portion sizes were big and they’re mostly known for their garlic noodles. I eat a lot so I wasn’t expecting to really be get full by the portion sizes before seeing how big it was. Looking at the menu I noticed that the price of most of the dishes were pretty affordable, ranging from $11-$30.

I decided to order the Perilla Beef Combo Pho, which consisted of Rare beef, brisket, and meatball noodle soup. It felt like only a minute later the food came out. Before adding any condiments or garnishes to the Pho, I always try the broth first. The first sip of this broth instantly warmed my whole body up. It was absolutely so flavorful and the beef, brisket, and meatballs all went together so beautifully.
